During his student days, REW worked for one summer in a foundry in his hometown of Peru, IN. This image recalls that experience of working in a relentlessly hot environment. It is very much in the taste of the period for art in America at that time to show the working man in depression era. Graphite pencil on card stock. 9" x 8" unsigned and unframed, numbered on the back side #621A.
