"The Lion and His Lady"

40.00

During the period between the late 1970's and early 1980's, REW was interested in producing lithographic prints for collectors and enthusiasts of his work. One of those works was "The Lion and His Lady." This fantasy work illustrates the demise of the great wagons of the American Circus Corporation that he knew so well from his youth, with a bit of fantasy which REW was famous for. The principal wagon portrayed here is a John Robinson Circus cage wagon. There were only 100 prints made in this edition. The original graphite drawing, catalogue #117 is under representation by Eckert & Ross Fine Art, Indianapolis, IN. This unsigned print measures 24 x 20 inches unframed. The lithograph is on textured artist paper. It is marked on the reverse side with the REW estate authorization stamp. (Click on the thumbnail to see the full image.)
